It dials random numbers on it's own, powers itself off about 3 times a week and sometimes just turns off in the middle of a conversation. It sometimes connects to the Interent with no problem and then for days it just won't connect - which really messes me up when I am traveling! It is a about 1 and 1/2 years old and I am asking my boss to get me a different blackberry, possibly a Curve but all I know is that this thing is getting very frustrating and sometimes I feel like just flushing down the nearest toliet! BLEH!!

Certain of my speed dial keys would stick and randomly call people on my sd at all hours of the night. (I finally had to shut it off at night) After about a month of this, I had ATT send me another. Within 5 weeks the second 8700 had similar keyboard issues. Now and then, the keys would stick. The SPACE key would type an N and the return key would type a random SYMBOL. Trying to backspace would type a bunch of Zs, The AT&T customer service helped me out though...THey charged me $299 for a 'damaged' blackberry. Oh well, there goes most of my payment for a previously-considered iPhone.......

That is great news. Having not been so fortunate, I can tell you that the grass is always greener. Moving to Outlook for mail was one of the worst decisions our company ever made. We lost tons of functionality--bearing in mind that Outlook is just mail and calendar. That's all it is.

Now that I'm on the other side of the fence, I can objectively say how pathetic a piece of software it is. Is it nicer looking? It depends on who you ask. Does Outlook/Exchange offer anything that Notes/Domino doesn't? It's not even a contest. I don't know how Microsoft sells it. In a true competitive analysis, there is no comparison--Notes wins hands-down. You can run an entire organization on Notes. You can send email with Outlook.

I was there as well (thought I recognized you from the picture on your site, but wasn't sure). I'd have to agree with your assessment of the event. There is a lot to be excited about with the Lotus line right now and it just didn't come across in the presentation.
